Mr + Mrs Retherford

Ahhh finally, finally these beautiful people are hitting the blog!! Last year my wedding season only consisted of a few weddings....This year, not so much. I wasn't expecting such non-stop travel and shooting, and therefore it set me back on being able to edit these wonderful weddings. But I officially photographed my last wedding of the year this past weekend, and I couldn't be more excited to now start focusing on giving my sweet couples their images (even if it means staying up till 3am playing all the Christmas music and drinking a glass of Sangria to make it happen. ;))

So without further ado, I present to you Mr + Mrs Retherford! I can honestly say I showed up to their wedding shocked as to just how insanely perfect everything was. The dresses. The flowers. The decor. The hair. The makeup. But most importantly...The joy. There is nothing I hate more than when brides get stressed out and don't even enjoy their day because they are worried about everything else and not focusing on whats important... And I am so happy to say that Nikki was one of the most joyful and stress-free brides I've ever seen. I don't think I saw her one time without a smile on her face, and that is exactly as it should be. Nikki and Dustin were by far the most ideal and wonderful clients I could have asked for, and I'm pretty sure I could photograph them everyday for the rest of my life and be perfectly happy. ;) Also, a huge shout out to everyone who made this day amazing! I absolutely love seeing fellow creatives work together to create something magical, and memorable, and everyone worked so hard to make their day just that. Be sure to check out everyones work in the links at the end. :)

Thank you Nikki and Dustin a thousand times over for trusting me with the most important days of your life. For trusting my vision, my work and for allowing me to capture your love for one another. It was an absolute honor, and your day forever will go down as one of my favorites.

Aaron + Jessica

Aaron and Jessica's wedding took place on the beautiful sands of 30-a, right near Destin FL. Aaron is an incredibly talented singer/songwriter in Nashville TN, and Jessica works for St Jude. From Nashville and beyond, friends and family traveled to the sunny state of Florida, to witness and take part in these two becoming one. This day, was one of my all time favorites. And not because of the stunning details, gorgeous dress, wonderful food, and rad wedding party. Although, all of those things did make my job pretty enjoyable. ;)...But the main reason it will forever be one of my favorite weddings that I've had the honor to document, was because of their genuine love for one another, and for their family and friends. It was such a tight-knit group of wonderful people, and everyone came together, to make this day simply magical. It was the biggest honor to document the funny moments, the ones that made everyone cry, happy dance, and the ones where it was simply just the look of love in ones eyes. I walked away from their wedding, loving my job even more. Its days like this one, that remind me that I have the best job ever. I can't thank Aaron and Jessica, along with their friends and family enough for welcoming me in, allowing me to capture this beautiful day, and for being some of the best people I've ever had the chance to work with!

You all rocked!

Hopefully these photos can give you a taste of just how awesome their day was!

Aaron wrote Jess a letter...and then everyone cried. ;)

This girl was by far the most joyful bride I have ever photographed, and then moments later, it all finally set in that she would soon walk out on the beach to spend forever with her man!

Basically, they're total babes.

Favorite. Wedding party. Ever.

Shout out to these guys for being the most fun groomsmen I've ever worked with. As you can see, they were great. ;)

Love this moment when her girls prayed over her (and prayed the rain away!) The prayers worked.

Whats a beach wedding, without the flower girl face-planting in the sand?? ;) haha

Stepping away for bride and groom photos at sunset, is always an all time favorite part of the day. That wind. That hair. That kiss. Freaking magic.

He wrote her the sweetest song, and I wish I had a video to show you, because it was simply the best.

Sign me up to shoot all the weddings with folks from Nashville, because as you can see, they know how to sing, and how to party. ;)

The end.

Laura + Matt // Portland, OR. In-home session

I can't even begin to tell you how much I adore Laura and Matt! And a little back story behind their session - I traveled to Portland, OR in May, and knew that I had to try and schedule some shoots while I was there. So thanks to some rad mutual friends, I was able to connect with Laura and asked if she and her hubby would be up for modeling for me, and model they did! ;) I've never photographed a love this genuine and passionate before. Not only were they so welcoming and sweet, but they were vulnerable enough in front of my camera, to allow me to photograph the most sweetest moments between them, and in those moments, I knew their love was something special. It was a love that resembles Christ and the church. One that is passionate and sincere.

They also made me want to shoot in-home sessions like, forever. ;)

Check out these babes loving each other in their new, adorable little home in Portland!
